When I was younger, happiness was something just around the corner – I hoped that things would change and I would finally be happy or satisfied. It took a lot for me to learn about love, happiness, beauty etc… But it isn’t the same for everyone. That was just my journey. I’m only telling you about this, because I love you and want you to find happiness too. Every day. xx

When Will It All ENDA??

When your world is crumbling go straight to the dessert. Remember the Seinfeld episode where George descibes how life is backwards – well it was actually a George Carlin bit:

“The most unfair thing about life is the way it ends. I mean, life is tough. It takes up a lot of your time. What do you get at the end of it? A death! What’s that–a bonus? I think the life cycle is all backwards. You should die first, get it out of the way. Then you live in an old-age home. You get kicked out when you’re too young. You get a gold watch. You go to work. You work forty years until you’re young enough to enjoy your retirement. You do drugs, alcohol, you party, you get ready for high school. You go to grade school. You become a kid, you play, you have no responsibilities. You become a little baby, you go back into the womb. You spend your last nine months floating. …….and you finish off as an orgasm!”

I like the idea of dessert first – so before I touch on the medicine, here’s a little sugar: On the dessert menu today: three songs by Enda
1. No Excuses
2. Standing Room
3. For The Only

Enda – the once Darling band of SanFran locals. The band was comprised of Valerie Moorhead, Jennifer Yee, Joey Clark, and Dan Aquino – since the breakup, the members of Enda have gone their separate ways. Jennifer Yee is now in a band called Cast Of Thousands Joey and Dan joined a band called

Now back to our main course: Pornography producers attached themselves to the idea of sexual revolution in the sixties, and successfully colored anti-porn lobbyists as ‘prudes’. Today there is a booming sexual revolution in China, the porn industry is likely to gain an even more massive amount of power and money in the modern world. I wonder what the total dollar value would be if you added together the commerce of :
* pornography
* illegal drugs
* guns / warfare
* chemical / pharmaceutical manufacture
* infrastructure / property damage caused by the above
* medical care to ease the suffering of individuals harmed by the above…

Pornography tells lies about women, but it tells the truth about men. Andrea Dworkin

Robert Jensen: “First, a note about the rather complicated position from which I speak. I am a gay guy who has had a girlfriend. Or, maybe it’s more accurate to say that I’m a straight man who sometimes has been sexual with men, at one point closeted and later openly. Or maybe I’m bisexual. Or maybe I’m making it up as I go along. Because I have crossed lines often, maybe I have a shaky standing to speak about gay male sexuality. Or because I cross lines, maybe my vantage point provides a valuable view. Readers can make their own decisions about how, or whether, to listen to me.”

That really says so much about how difficult it is to label sexuality. Even when we look at ourselves, most people, in their safest inner-self moments, realize that their own gender and sexuality have been adopted from a societal program, and that they never really made a free choice. I think that if the sexuality of humans could be veiwed as having any kind of sameness or uniformity among it’s individuals, then the word to stereotype us all is: TRANSITION. I believe that’s the only definition that fits anymore. Human sexuality is always in a state of flux and transition. Most people hold themselves in the proper template, but change, flux and transition are what drives our creativity. We want to grow and change. That’s our true nature. Fully Completely.

I mean the Chinese are chomping at the bit for faster pussycat vibrators, and their government continues to promise to purge their citizenry of evil sexual thought crimes… Larry Flynt just sued by his nephew for whatever, obviously a ploy they discussed ahead of time to get the media spin on their business. The bottom line is always: we can have great intentions, but in America, if you want to really get moving, you need Paypal and a frickkin great campaign blog.

I recently came across a page on tribe.net by a transgendered woman in San Francisco who described being ridiculed by gays while she lined up for a coffee in a local store. Her question was how does the T fit into GLBTQ? It’s just the kind of divisionary sentiment the Blue party loves instigating in the Red’s section. Will we ever learn?

Gay vs trans in America: lesbian. Gay. Bisexual. Transgender. In the aftermath of ENDA, can’t we all just get along? An Advocate round table on the state of the community now.

THE LGBT “COMMUNITY” has never seemed less communal than in the last few months. When Barney Frank decided in September to move forward with a federal Employment NonDiscrimination Act that covered sexual orientation and not gender identity, it was as if an earthquake had gone off in the queer world, laying bare the differences between us. Within days, 300-plus LGBT organizations around the country had united in opposition to that version of ENDA, saying it wasn’t fair for some members of the community to gain rights when others would not, while Frank, the Democratic leadership in the House of Representatives, and political insiders savvy to the legislative process argued that passing an imperfect measure was better than no measure at all. Caught in between was the Human Rights Campaign, which initially declined to support or oppose ENDA in an effort both to preserve its valuable Capitol Hill relationships and placate its allies in the movement.
